Nneka Nwosu Faison

 

Nneka Nwosu Faison is a television news reporter, producer, and digital journalist. An Ivy League Educated and Emmy Nominated Journalist, Nneka earned her Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. The following year, she received her Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Nneka was Columbia's first recipient of the Pulitzer-Moore Scholarship, a merit-based scholarship endowed by the family of Joseph Pulitzer. For her Master's Thesis, she co-produced a documentary that won the school’s James A. Wechsler Award for Local Reporting.

 

A pioneer in the field of Digital Journalism, Nneka was the first digital journalist hired at WPRI-TV in Providence, RI. She shot, edited, and produced her own stories in addition to delivering live reports on the air. Within a year at WPRI, she added Weekend Anchor to her duties. After four years in Providence, Nneka moved to WTNH-TV in New Haven, CT where she spearheaded the move to digital journalism at that station. Her work there earned her a New England Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Video Journalism.

 

Today, Nwosu is a Producer at Chronicle on WCVB-TV (ABC) Boston. Chronicle is the longest running local news magazine show in the country. She has produced several half hour episodes geared towards the millennial generation, from a show on the student loan crisis called, “Generation Debt,” peer-to-peer apps in “The Sharing Economy,” “Wedding Planning,” and most recently a show on the lives of Black Men in Boston.

 

In addition to local news, Nneka has worked at ABC News and Black Entertainment Television’s news department. She is currently working to form her own production company.
