Jill Iscol

Lifetime Achievement Award

 

Activist, Educator and Author, Jill Iscol, EdD, is President of the IF Hummingbird Foundation, a family foundation established in 1989.  For the past two decades Jill has supported and participated in numerous organizations enabling them to become stable, sustainable and successful, impacting lives around the globe.  Currently, they include Acumen, City Year New York, the Iscol Family Program for Leadership Development at Cornell University, Girl Rising, DC Greens, Blue Engine, NEST and Horizons National.  Jill is also a Member of Clinton Global Initiative, the US-Afghan Women’s Council, the Ashoka Support Network and, in 2010, was appointed to the New York State Commission on National and Community Service.

 

Jill has been actively involved in the Democratic Party. She served as Chairperson of the Annual Family Re-Union Conference, moderated by Vice President Gore and Mrs. Gore, and planned and participated in the White House Conference on Partnerships and Philanthropy in 2000. Jill is a strategic advisor to Secretary Hillary Clinton and was Co-Chair for Hillary Rodham Clinton for Senate’s New York Finance Committee, which raised a record $29 million dollars, and as National Vice-Chair of Hillary Rodham Clinton for President’s 2008 Finance Committee.  

 

Jill’s book, Hearts on Fire: Stories of Today’s Visionaries Igniting Idealism into Action, was released as a Random House Trade Paperback in January 2013.  Subsequently, she launched the Hearts on Fire Visionary Campaign to spotlight inspiring leaders and the work they are doing to improve the lives of others.

 

Jill is a member of the Penguin Random House Speakers Bureau and has appeared on MSNBC Andrea Mitchell Reports, PBS’ To The Contrary, at the Milken Institute, TedXWomen and SXSW. Her articles have been published in education journals, on The Huffington Post and The Diplomatic Courier.  She been honored by City Year New York, Women’s Campaign International and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

 

Jill is a born and bred New Yorker.  She is married and has two adult children.
